The Company
Cummo Vini was founded in 2001 in the Agrigento hinterland - a harsh and less popular
part of Sicily - by Diego Maurizio Cummo's determination to carry on a project started by
his grandfather in the early 1900s, in the small winery of the rural farm, still surrounded
by vineyards. Since then, the Cummo family's value haven't changed: growing grapes,
transforming them into quality sustainable products, and giving the best of their work
back to the community, through sincere wines that express the territory they are rooted
in.

About the Lands and Families
Cummo wine comes from vineyards located in districts with highly evocative names, between Canicattì, Naro, Campobello, Ravanusa and Palma di Montechiaro. The Company cultivates local and international varieties, including Nero Cappuccio, Cabernet Franc, Nero d'Avola, Frappato, Grillo and Moscato. They are all obtained from organic farming.
Terra Ranni - big, thick, not easy to chip away - is what old farmers called it, to indicate a non-slickly soil, with a medium grain. Lands far from the sea, with little rain, marked thermal shock between day and night; these elements significantly affect production, resulting into fresh, intense and persistent wines.
The land is trusted to people - farmers - who have inherited the values and knowledge of their historical families.
